2015 MISSION LEARNING OPPORTUNITYBack to Trip History
Winter Trip:Three team members visited Sisak in the winter to make more connections with some key people in Sisak as well as in the government. God blessed us by opening doors to share with the US Ambassador, and share with him all that HiS PRINT is doing in and around Sisak and other places in The Balkans. He was very appreciative of our efforts and took over an hour meeting with us in his office. We were also able to meet with the President and staff of Applied Ceramics in Sisak. They are U.S. company from California with a branch in Sisak servicing Eastern Europe. They were very receptive and we were able to talk about helping with business ventures in the future. This was the year we expanded HiS HOUSE to include a large outside covered eating area, 4 new cabins upstairs, additional bathroom, Upper Room Meeting space and new outside upper deck back patio. We have expanded HiS HOUSE to allow us to bring more and more people to participate from the USA as well as other nations in and around Eastern Europe.
Summer Trip:In the summer, we broke in HiS HOUSE with 28 people coming from USA and 15 people coming from other countries such as Austria, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Siberia and Ukraine. It was a real blessing to have everyone there and to see God’s hand at work across cultures. We had one young man from the Ukraine turn his life over to Christ as a result of the prayer and team devotional time! They came to participate in the camps and pick up baseball and football equipment. We were able to ship a 40 foot container filled with 12,600 pounds of equipment and it was a real blessing to have the opportunity to do so.
The Texas Carnival expanded to near 1,000 participants coming to the River Walk and we expanded our community outreach to the Blind Association in Sisak and the Food Pantry servicing the gypsy community. We were able to provide for 3 families by delivering food and sharing with them the love of Christ.
